Lust in the Dust

Lust, though not a dirty word, carries connotations of covetousness and sexuality that aren't necessarily intrinsic. Artists have the advantage of lusting after all things while struggling to understand and render the object or scene their compulsions led them to. The desire to portray is not an easy thing for me but a perineal ache for the beauty that life offers and a need to try to represent that beauty. The raw need an artist feels to portray is not one of the deadly sins but a weighted gift nonetheless, not only to the artist, but to the human quotient. It satisfies and fulfills both the artist and the viewer at it's best.
